Beijing Journey is one of the best Olympic mixes I have ever seen. And when I say that, I say it knowing quite a bit about good Olympic basketball mixes. Although the mix comes at a rather late time, Jedi delivers yet again.  The mix follows the path of Kobe Bryant, as he tried to restore the glory back in USA basketball.  The best words used to describe or sum up the journey would be patriotic and dreamy.  Everything from the soundtrack, to the subtle blue color correction before the spain game, to the constant blur transitions symbolizes this chasing of a dream.
Now if you’re a fan of any of Jedi’s other work, you know this isn’t a short fast paced highlight reel. If you’re a fan of Jedi you know you’ll be absorbing meaning over a long duration.  And yet while the mix is 8+ minutes long, it doesn’t feel like that for a second. The timing carries throughout the mix, with abbreviated climaxes carrying you through.  It’s like a story with chapters; pre china, round of elimination, and then the grand finale. Each having it’s respected plot points and resolution.  when combined Jedi achieves a mix unique to many Olympic mixes.
